EMBARK > OKC Moves Service Changes - Effective 12/3/2023

On Sunday December 3 the OKC Moves Service changes go into effect including the merging of route three and route five and the launch of RAPID Northwest.

In an effort to promote use of public transportation over cars to explore Oklahoma City shopping, entertainment venues and events, and to get out and vote.

Cycling is a great way to stay fit, and help you get to and from you first and last mile destinations.

Bus > Night Service

Your day doesn't end at 7 pm, and ours doesn't either. Five bus routes operate at night and run hourly, Monday – Friday from 7 p.m. to midnight. To maximize connectivity, routes connect at the Downtown Transit Center, and the Reno Mini-Hub (routes 011 and 23N).

Bus > Winter Weather Detours

Conditions can change quickly. If there is a significant accumulation of snow, ice or freezing rain, some bus routes will be put on detour and others may be canceled. It is possible that buses won't be able to serve parts of a route, if they become too dangerous to drive on. Before you leave, get the latest updates on delays and cancelations.

The OKC streetcar system consists of seven modern and two routes. The Downtown Loop is a 4.86-mile route, consisting of 22 stops, & traveling through 5 districts. The Bricktown Loop is a 2-mile route, consisting of 9 stops, & traveling through 2 districts.

Oklahoma City’s public transportation system is embarking on a new journey. The bus system, which has been in existence since 1966, will be launching major system improvements Monday, April 28 and will formally transition to a new name.

The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project will be Central Oklahoma’s first BRT line and will provide a premium transit service to Northwest OKC residents through more frequent service with enhanced vehicles, stations and passenger amenities.

Projecting 10 years into the future, the Go Norman Transit Plan identified many recommendations for transit improvements in Norman. Including additional frequency, Sunday service, expanded service coverage, and expanded hours on weekdays and Saturdays, these recommendations were put into phases to help guide the City in making improvements strategically as funding becomes available.
