Transit Center

We call it the Transit Center because it is the heart and hub of Central Oklahoma transit and where to go to learn how to use public transportation.

Our downtown Transit Center is the hub for Oklahoma City public transit. With its connection to the heart of downtown, the OKC Streetcar, RAPID NW brt, Oklahoma River Cruises, and many Downtown OKC Parking options, the Transit Center serves pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, and transit riders.

Transit Amenities

EMBARK bus service includes more than 1500 unique stops, and we are continually investing in infrastructure at stops to make public transit a better and safe experience.

In accordance with EMBARK Bus Stop Standards all new bus stops must:

  • Be ADA accessible and compliant
  • Include security lighting and a trash receptacle
  • Have at least three sides

As part of the MAPS 4 Transit project, 500 additional shelters with security lighting and ADA-compliant sidewalk connections are planned. Over 50% of bus customers use EMBARK services 5+ days per week, making it crucial for proper shelters to offer safety and accessibility to those using EMBARK for essential transit service.

Fast Fact: The average cost to make a stop ADA accessible and include a bus shelter is approximately $15,000.
