EMBARK is now offering free transportation for seniors 60+ who are victims of white-collar crimes.

EMBARK is now offering transportation for seniors who are victims of white-collar crimes. The free transportation enables seniors aged 60 and older to manage their own affairs and transportation to and from various locations to work directly with OCPD detectives and staff throughout the lifecycle of a case. The program began on July 6, 2021 and is coordinated through EMBARK's Mobility Management Services. Through the OCPD Victim Services program, residents have alternative means to reach destinations needed for their cases.

“EMBARK is constantly working to identify new opportunities where transit can fulfill a community need,” said Jason Ferbrache. “EMBARK looks to remove the barrier of transportation in an already stressful situation and offers victims the ability to independently reach their appointments.”  The service is only offered to victims of crimes that the Oklahoma City Police Department is handling, and it must be a white-collar crime, which is a financially motivated and nonviolent crime. This new service is made possible through the Older American's Act funding provided through our partnership with Areawide Aging Agency.

“The decision by EMBARK to provide free transportation to and from the police department for crime victims not only strengthens the relationship between the police and the community, but it also helps detectives solve cases in a timelier manner,” said OCPD Detective Liz Herman. “EMBARK has proven to be an integral part of helping people in our community who are truly in need.”

Seniors in Oklahoma County or within the City of Oklahoma City are eligible for this transportation service. Sign up is easy, simply call y405-297-2583 to complete a short phone intake. Learn more about all of EMBARK’s services for seniors at www.embarkok.com/special-services.
