Not every student heading back to school has access to reliable, safe transportation. The EMBARK Haul Pass Program can ease the difficulty for these students by providing youth 18 years and younger free transportation on all fixed-route buses, RAPID NW and OKC Streetcar service. The service is available year-round, any time of the day.

“Years ago, we recognized the need in our community for young people and their parents to have access to safe, reliable and affordable transportation. We created the Haul Pass Program to meet that need,” said Jesse Rush, Director of EMBARK. “Students can use the Haul Pass to travel to and from school, extra-curricular activities, after-school jobs or other activities. Parents who need transportation options for their child can be assured that their young person can safely get where they need to go both before and after school.”

Any youth 18 and younger is eligible for the Haul Pass Program. All participants must complete an application form to receive their Haul Pass to ride, which they can submit online or pick up at the Customer Service counter at the downtown Transit Center. Youth 12 and older are provided with an EMBARK photo ID; this ID is not required for youth 11 and younger.

To receive an EMBARK ID, applicants must provide one of the following documents: a birth certificate, driver’s license, state or military ID or a student ID or proof of current school enrollment, such as a transcript or class schedule.

Applicants or their parents or guardians will be notified via email once their application is approved, typically within three to five business days. Upon approval, applicants can pick up their Haul Pass and EMBARK ID at the downtown Transit Center. Youth age 12 and older are required to present both their Haul Pass and EMBARK ID each time they ride to receive free fare transit benefits; youth age 11 and younger only need to present their Haul Pass. The pass is good for any service area or route EMBARK operates.
