Oklahoma City Streetcar Celebrates First Anniversary

EMBARK Plans OKC Streetcar Celebration Activities During December

December 3, 2019

EMBARK is celebrating the first anniversary of the OKC Streetcar with activities and celebrations for the entire family in December.

Nearly one year ago, on Dec. 14, 2018, the OKC Streetcar was welcomed back to OKC after a decades-long hiatus. Now, the OKC Streetcar is celebrating one loop around the sun as OKC heads into the holiday season.

“The Streetcar has had a great first year, averaging more than 35,000 rides per month, introducing many OKC residents to transit for the first time and making lasting impressions on visitors to our city,” said Jason Ferbrache, EMBARK director. “Our anniversary celebration is a chance for us to give back and thank our downtown neighbors who’ve supported us during our first year, and to show our love for OKC. We are especially pleased to partner with the Homeless Alliance for our Celebration and Donation Drive at the Ballpark and encourage everyone who’s able to find a way to give back to the community this year.”

Oklahoma City residents and visitors have several chances to celebrate with OKC Streetcar this month, with free weekends, celebrations, and activities on the streetcar and at platform stops and special ticketed events.

Ride Free Weekends

EMBARK is offering free rides on the Streetcar on weekends through January 5 in celebration of the anniversary. For more information, visit OKCStreetcar.com.
